The past 2 months have been full of challenges, surprises, and a season of reflection. Challenges and surprises because of the current C-19 situation, where most parts of our ministry programs had to change and be adopted to new needs of the society. The restrictions during lockdown prevented us as a team to help for a while which has been frustrating but it also has been a time of reflection of our personal walk with God, the team, and the ministry God has given us. A common theme during this season has been a reminder of how important it is to be saturated in the word of God and being diligent in prayers. By knowing Him we will be able to stand firm in a time of change as good soldiers prepared to fight any battle. God is in control, He is sovereign, almighty and we can rest assure of that His name will be glorified through this situation as Gods people will spread the good news of Jesus, being His hands and feet among the suffering in new and in more impactful ways.
Isaiah 45:5-7 I am the Lord, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me, that people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the Lord, who does all these things.
We now have the opportunity to help 65 families in one of the poorest communities in Phuket, not only with food but also with the message of hope we have in Jesus. We help to prepare bread which a local church turns into tuna sandwiches and hand out to more than 500 people a week. We prepare hand sanitizer and the message on the bottle tells of a promise of a clean heart for those who put their trust in Jesus. One of the most vulnerable people groups is the migrant workers and especially their children, this time we have been asked to help to feed children and there is as many as 400 that have been located so far. We are also supplying Covid patients and volunteers at the hospitals with lunch boxes. Most of these areas we could not reach before this happened and it has opened up and will continue to open up new areas where we can be able to spread the love of Jesus.
Jer 17:7-8 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Let us be like trees planted by the water, sending out our roots finding nutrients as the Holy Spirit minister to us through the word of God. Being equipped for any situation by the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, for His glory and fame in Phuket and beyond.
